NEW STUDENTS: Kindergarten enrollment for incoming students in the Madison Metropolitan School District for the 2017-18 school year starts on Monday, March 6, 2017, from 2pm to 6pm, at all MMSD elementary schools*. If you were unable to attend the enrollment date, don't worry! You are still able to begin the process online by clicking on the link below. Then contact your local elementary school to schedule a time to complete the enrollment process. Not sure which school your child should attend? You can look it up here.

*With the exception of Lincoln, Randall and Marquette, which serve grades 3-5.

RETURNING STUDENTS: Parents of children who currently attend our 4K program enroll in August.

Online enrollment for 2017-2018 begins August 1, 2017 at mmsd.org/enroll.

Parents or guardians need to show the following documentation when they enroll their child:

  • Verification of your child's age (birth certificate, passport, or health record)
  • Verification of your address (lease, mortgage or recent utility bill)
  • Your child's immunization record

Children are welcome to accompany parents, but they are not required to attend.

If parents have questions regarding early entrance to kindergarten (4 years old on September 1), they should contact the principal of their neighborhood school.

Parents interested in Dual Language Immersion should visit www.mmsd.org/dli. The Dual Language Immersion program gives children the opportunity to learn in both English and Spanish, preparing them to shine as global citizens. Parents must submit an application in order to be considered for the program.
